BENEFITS AND USES

This medication is an antifungal agent which relieves fungal skin infections.

It is used to treat fungal skin infections such as ringworm, athlete's foot, fungal nappy rash and fungal sweat rash. It is also used to relieve irritation of the vulva (external thrush) or the end of the penis, which may be associated with thrush.

When this medication is applied to the infected area of skin, it works by destroying the fungus or yeast which has caused the infection.

DIRECTIONS

Apply this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor/pharmacist or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed. This medication is for external use only.

  1. Wash your hands.
  2. For first time use, pierce the tube seal by inverting the cap over the end of the tube and press.
  3. If the feet are infected, they should be washed and dried thoroughly, especially between the toes, before applying the cream.
  4. Clotrimazole should be applied thinly and evenly to the affected areas. A strip of cream (½cm long) is enough to treat an area of about the size of the hand.

The duration of the treatment depends upon the type of infection and instructions by your doctor/pharmacist.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF THIS MEDICINE?

This medication may cause the following side effects:

  • Rashes
  • Itching of skin

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe.
