Product Description

MELOLIN◊ Low Adherent Absorbent Wound Dressing consists of an absorbent cotton
and polyester fibre pad which is heat-bonded to a thin low low-adherent, perforated polyester film.

Benefits

  • Designed to be low adherent and absorbent
  • Protects the wound
  • Water repellent backing
  • Non-sensitising and breathable
  • Remains intact when cut

Direction of Use/Dosage

  1. Wash your hands: Begin by washing your hands thoroughly before and after you handle the wound.
  2. Clean the wound: Gently clean the wound and the skin around it.
  3. Dry the area: Pat the surrounding skin dry.
  4. Open the packet: Carefully open the Melolin dressing packaging.
  5. Position the dressing: Place the shiny side of the Melolin pad directly onto the wound.
  6. Secure the dressing: Fix the dressing in place with tape or a bandage, such as an OPSITE™ FLEXIGRID™.
  7. Change the dressing: Change the dressing once a day or more often, depending on the wound's condition.

Caution

A primary caution for Melolin is to seek immediate medical advice for serious wounds, burns, or if redness or discomfort occurs, as it is not suitable for all conditions and can lead to maceration if exudate becomes trapped in very viscous wounds. The shiny, perforated film side goes on the wound to prevent sticking, and the dressing should be changed daily or more frequently depending on the wound's condition.
